Step back in time and discover how America took shape! In 5th Grade Early American History, students explore the origins and growth of the United States through an engaging study of history, geography, economics, and government. Beginning with Indigenous cultures and continuing through European exploration, colonization, the American Revolution, and the founding of the Republic, students trace how physical and cultural factors shaped the nation’s development up to 1800.

The course also introduces the foundations of U.S. citizenship and government as outlined in the Constitution. Students strengthen critical thinking skills by analyzing sources, distinguishing fact from opinion, comparing primary and secondary materials, and conducting research. Lessons integrate key social studies skills such as reading maps, interpreting charts and graphs, identifying relationships, debating, writing persuasively, and developing independent study habits.
