World History - Honors
World History – Honors is a challenging course that examines world history from prehistoric times through the modern era. Students focus in depth on the developments and events that have shaped civilizations across time.
The course is organized chronologically and, within broad eras, regionally. Lessons explore major developments in religion, philosophy, the arts, science and technology, and political history.
Geography concepts and skills are introduced within the context of the historical narrative. Online lessons and assessments complement World History: Our Human Story, a textbook written and published by K12.
Students are challenged to explore topics in depth as they analyze primary sources and maps, create timelines, and complete projects. Through this work, they practice advanced historical thinking and writing skills while examining the broad themes and big ideas of human history.
Students also complete an independent honors project each semester.
