5th Grade Music
5th Grade Music offers a variety of learning activities that include singing, dancing, body percussion, and authentic sound recordings to explore and build musical skills.
The course is organized into six units: Advanced Melodic and Harmonic Studies, Rhythmic Complexity and Percussion Skills, Music History and Appreciation, World Music and Ethnomusicology, Composition and Songwriting, and Performance and Ensemble Skills.
Students learn about and explore the musical elements: beat, music notes and duration, meter, rhythm, pattern, pitch, solfege, tonality, chords, form, music styles, movement, articulation, dynamics, and tempo. They also dive into vocals, types of sounds, instrument families, classical composers, dance, performance, preference, and how music relates to other areas of learning.
Students read e-books related to music concepts.
