Intermediate Global Studies
Intermediate Global Studies helps students better understand the physical and cultural world around them. The course begins with key geographic themes that provide a clear framework for studying and comparing different parts of the world.
Students then explore each major geographic region, including North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Antarctica, and Oceania. Along the way, they learn about the physical features, cultures, and traditions that make each region unique, while also identifying similarities that connect people and places across the globe.
The course also introduces students to real-world topics that shape our world today, such as trade, globalization, environmental concerns, and conflict. These discussions help students see how geography influences history, culture, and current events.
In addition, students build important academic skills by completing research projects focused on specific regions. These projects strengthen research, organization, and critical thinking skills while allowing students to explore global topics in greater depth.
