Civics
Civics is the study of citizenship and government. This one-semester course gives students a clear introduction to civic life, politics, and government, along with a brief overview of the history and development of government in the United States.
Students learn how power and responsibility are shared and limited by government, how American politics influence world affairs, the role of law in the U.S. constitutional system, and the rights guaranteed to citizens by the government.
Students also explore how the world is organized politically and compare civic participation in the United States with that in other countries today.
