Algebra 2 helps students build on the skills they gained in Algebra 1 and introduces a wider range of mathematical concepts. Along with continued work in linear, quadratic, and exponential functions, students explore new function types, including polynomial, rational, radical, and trigonometric functions.

Throughout the course, students strengthen their ability to model situations and solve equations, such as solving quadratic equations with complex numbers and solving exponential equations using properties of logarithms.

Students also work with sequences and series, study probability distributions, and learn more advanced data analysis techniques to prepare them for higher-level math.
