Algebra 1 builds on the math skills students developed in middle school and helps them take the next step toward more advanced high-school math. Because it follows updated middle school math standards, this course may look slightly different from older versions of Algebra, offering a clearer, more connected approach to key concepts.

Students deepen their understanding of both linear and exponential relationships by comparing how they work and when each one is useful. They also learn to apply linear models to data that exhibit a clear trend.

In addition, the course introduces quadratic functions, guiding students through how to analyze them, solve them, and use them in practical situations.
