Spanish III
Spanish III students further deepen their understanding of Spanish by focusing on the four key areas of world language study: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Each unit introduces a new vocabulary theme and grammar concepts, with reading and listening comprehension activities, speaking and writing exercises, multimedia cultural presentations, and interactive practices that reinforce vocabulary and grammar.
The course teaches students to communicate effectively through informal speaking and writing interactions, express their thoughts and opinions in both formal and informal contexts, use vocabulary and grammar accurately and naturally, participate in conversations on a wide range of topics, respond appropriately to prompts, analyze and compare cultural practices, products, and perspectives of Spanish-speaking countries, read and interpret important Hispanic literature, and take frequent assessments to monitor their progress.
The course is conducted almost entirely in Spanish and aligns with national standards set by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
In the first semester, students explore verbs, false cognates, nature, vacation, music, technology, measurements, and clothing words, while in the second semester, they cover work, shopping and money vocabulary, expressions with por and para, relationships, love, social issues, and computer-related words.
