1st Grade Music
1st Grade Music offers a variety of learning activities that include singing, dancing, body percussion, and authentic sound recordings to explore and build foundational musical skills.
The course is organized into six units: Music and Rhythm, Notation and Form, Singing and Timbre, Instruments and Families, Expression and Creating, and Music History and Connections. Students learn about the musical elements: beat, music notes and duration, meter, rhythm, pattern, pitch, solfege, tonality, chords, form, music styles, movement, articulation, dynamics, and tempo. They also dive into vocals, types of sounds, instrument families, classical composers, dance, performance, preference, and how music relates to other areas of learning.
Students read e-books related to music concepts.
