Middle School Chinese I
Chinese I – Middle School is aligned with national standards from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
Students build skills in the four key areas of world language learning: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The course combines effective language-learning methods with online instruction.
Each unit introduces new vocabulary and grammar, along with reading and listening activities, speaking and writing practice, instruction in Pinyin and tones, and interactive activities that reinforce vocabulary and grammar.
Lessons emphasize real-life context and conversational examples, giving students multiple opportunities to practice and master new vocabulary and grammar before moving on.
Throughout the course, students learn language related to everyday topics such as polite phrases, numbers and days, ages and dates, family, school, animals, descriptions, countries, and nationalities.
